Glock Switch: FULL STAINLESS STEEL AUTO SELECTOR SWITCH FOR G17 G19 G21 G23 G26 – PRECISION
A “Glock switch” is a compact modification designed to be fitted onto the rear of a Glock pistol’s slide. However, its primary function is to bypass the standard semi-automatic firing cycle, effectively converting the handgun into a machine pistol capable of sustained automatic fire.
Functional Engineering
In a standard semi-automatic cycle, the trigger bar must reset and catch the firing pin after every shot. However, a glock switch replaces the standard slide cover plate and introduces a physical protrusion that applies constant pressure to the trigger bar.
• The Disruption: By depressing the disconnector, the device prevents the trigger bar from stopping the firing pin.
• The Result: As long as the trigger remains held back, the firing pin continues to strike primers as the slide returns to battery, achieving rates of fire between 1,100 and 1,200 rounds per minute.
Physical Characteristics of a glock switch and Visual Profile
• Compact Scale: Remarkably small, generally maintaining a footprint no larger than a thumbnail or a standard coin.
• Geometric Form: Characterized by a blocky, square, or rectangular silhouette.
• Mechanical Projections: Defined by a distinct integrated “leg,” raised nub, or a cross-styled protrusion.
• User Interface: Often features a miniature toggle lever or a sliding selector on the rear-facing surface.
• Material and Finish: Frequently manufactured from matte-finished metals (such as steel or aluminum) in black or silver, though polymer variants exist.
• Mounting Location: Positioned externally on the rear of the slide, replacing the factory backplate where the slide meets the frame.
